Sioux

This is the most popular NAtive American Tipi. Its tilted cone construction with a 3 pole foundation makes it very stable. Gores added to the smoke flaps help it fit smoothly over the poles. Normally has a 6' plume of poles over top of tipi.

Cheyenne

This tipi has a 3 pole sloped foundation, but the smoke flaps are 10" longer and slightly narrower than the Sioux. Normally has a 6' plume of poles over top of tipi.

Crow

This tipi is rounder with a slight change in the smoke flap. No door is cut out. A four pole foundation is used with 4' longer poles to create an hourglass look. Normally has a 10' plume of poles over top of tipi.

Blackfeet

This tipi has a four pole foundation, making it shorter and more oval. No gores are used in the smoke flaps. Normally has a 6' plume of poles over top of tipi. Instead of rock grommets, webbing is sewn in for the tie downs.

FAQ

Q. What weight of canvas you use?
A. We use 10 oz Sunforger sailing canvas factory treated for fire, water, mildew, and UV protection of the highest quality.

Q. Are the smoke pole flaps, lacing pin holes reinforced in any way?
A. All seams are flat-felled double stitched, the best way to sew a cover. In addition, all stress points are reinforced with leather. Lasing pins are hand pealed willow, which give a great authentic look. Poles are hand pealed lodge pole pine, also adding character and style.

Q. How are the stakes inserted?
A. Stake loops are nylon sewn to 1 inch cotton webbing which are sewn to the cover. Our liner ties to the poles giving correct spacing and a great look.

Q. How are your tipis different from the others?
A. We are a full service Tipi Company and use the best materials available. We assemble your product by hand in Laurel, MT. We are also available to deliver,set up, and take down our products. We make a quality product and are proud of it, as you will be.

Q. Do you have tipis/teepees in stock if not how long does it take to receive an order?
A. If we don’t have your ordered tipi in stock, we will start assembling it to be ready for pick-up or delivery the following week.
